Some of you saw the prototype fenders on my 2+2 (which is for sale btw..and no need for witty retorts, I have 2 new projects). Tetzu is now releasing them to the general public for 2+2 Z32's. The fenders add about 75mm (3") of extra clearance for running deep dish wheels and for not having to do extensive bodywork in order to achieve a wider stance. Each fender is made of 2 seperate molds which create an individual over fender. The main portion of the fender is thicker handlayed fiberglass/resin with a black gelcoat finish. The flange portion which holds the fender tight to the body is more flexable which makes mounting and fitment a breeze. I personally cut, flattened, and spot welded the stock fender to give extra clearance due to the low ride height I love so much, but this is far easier to do than lots of metalworking or the bodyfiller bonanza we sometimes see. The gel coat can easily be scuffed and ready to paint. The drivers side has the section out for the gas filler door. To attach each fender only requires 3M automotive double stick tape (red peel back) and either 2 or 4 self tapping screws (either will work, 4 would just make for more security..but trust me they won't come off). Here is a few pics of a raw fender to show the ledged flange and the "rolled" fender lip (first design of it's kind in an over fender).

And on my Z (Excuse the sponsor stickers in the first 3 pics, Falken had it in their booth):

You can see in the rear section it stops at a certain point. That point is where the ledge is on the stock bumper and many aftermarket bumpers as well. We made the molds on a stock 2+2 bodied Z32, that way any 2+2 could use them. These are also to be marketed in Japan where the majority of TT's are 2+2. (Fenders are $450 for a pair, not including shipping) If there was enough interest I'm sure we could make 2 seater versions. Till then, convert a 2+2...you'll thank yourself.
 Because stock sucks... |
